The blade of this unique knife has a centered tip in relation to the knife's axis to facilitate handling and give the knife more strength and leverage for opening oysters. The blade is blunt with a sharp tip to get between even tight shells and reduce the risk of accidental cuts.

This knife locks open for use or closed between jobs with Opinel's patented Virobloc safety ring, which is a stainless steel ring that rotates into position and keeps the blade securely in place.

The blade of the No.09 Oyster Knife is made from high-quality European stainless steel. It is hardened to a Rockwell Hardness of 55-57, optimized to ensure corrosion resistance and superior performance. The razor-sharp blade holds its edge, even when used with hard foods, ensuring a lifetime of performance.

Crafted in the French Alps, this kitchen knife features a varnished Padouk handle that is contoured for a comfortable grip and resistant to humidity.

Caring for your Opinel Knife:
Hand wash only. Do not immerse your knife in water, as this could warp the wooden handle. Dry the blade immediately after washing.
