The Mountaineer is a solid urban EDC Swiss Army Knife. The file outclasses the saw in this setting. The Swiss Knife Shop experience was first rate.

Despite all of the expensive knives and brands, my Swiss Army knives come in as the best for this old soldier. They are handy. Wish I could design my own with only the tools I would want.

The Mountaineer is essentially the Huntsman but, without the wood saw. In its place, a metal saw/file is substituted. The metal saw is a little more useful as it can used for a variety of things and you gain a tool that is not dedicated for cutting wood. This is a textbook option for a typical urban carry as you have a main and pen blades in addition to the widely used scissors, bottle opener with large screwdriver/wire stripper and a can opener with small screwdriver tip for the layer tools. The back layer tools include the awl/reamer, parcel hook and corkscrew. This will certainly be added to my rotational EDC carry.

This knife is basically a Huntsman with the wood saw replaced by a file and metal saw. Very handy for emergency repairs needing light metal or plastics to be cut. The file also works great on fingernails. Ive found plenty of uses for this knife in my edc rotation. Currently, it resides in my work truck.
