The Helle Nord Fixed Blade Knife is a large multipurpose full-tang outdoor knife named for the North, which represents strength, winter darkness and summer light in Norway. The Nord, bigger than the Nordlys, has a robust stainless steel blade that is 0.146 inches thick.
The Nord is often used for food preparation, making kindling for campfires, throwing sparks off ferro rods, sharpening sticks, carving and more. It is the ultimate bushcraft tool.
The full-tang construction of the Nord's blade gives this knife wonderful balance. It is hand crafted from Alleima 14C28N stainless steel and hand-sharpened to a razor-sharp Sandvik grind edge, giving this thick, strong blade a thin enough edge for any cutting or carving challenge.
The handle of this knife is made of carefully selected curly birch wood and has two rivets and a grommet hole that allows you to throw it on a carabiner or cord. The shape and length of the handle has enough space to use a forward grip for fine cuts and a pommel grip for chopping.
The Nord knife comes with a genuine leather belt sheath, which is also made by Helle in Norway. The sheath has a compass rose pattern debossed on it in homage to it's name.
This beautiful, practical knife is hand made in Holmedal, Norway by Helle's highly skilled artisans in the Helle factory, which is perched on the edge of a fjord. No two Helle knives are identical, as they are handcrafted with natural materials, but they are all inspected manually after the crafting process is complete to ensure perfection.
Personalization: Up to 8 characters can be custom laser engraved on the blade of the Helle Nord.
