  • Description
  • The Helle Lappland Knife is a northern Scandinavian style knife used extensively by the indigenous Sami people* as a utility knife in daily life. The Lappland's non-laminated blade is large and fairly thin, to allow easy, effective slicing, but doesn't compromise on strength.

The barrel-shaped handle of the Lappland fits medium to large hands comfortably. It is made of hand-shaped birch and finished with brass fitings.

The non-laminated Helle 12C27 stainless steel blade is shaped to a scandi edge and sharpened by hand to a razor sharp edge.

This versatile knife comes with a traditional leather sheath that attaches with a leather strop.

The Lappland is the ideal addition to your camp collection, and makes a complementary pair with a classic small knife.

This beautiful, practical knife is hand made in Holmedal, Norway by Helle's highly skilled artisans in the Helle factory, which is perched on the edge of a fjord. No two Helle knives are identical, as they are handcrafted with natural materials, but they are all inspected manually after the crafting process is complete to ensure perfection.

*The indigenous Sami people live a mobile lifestyle in the northern parts of Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Personalization: Up to 10 characters can be custom laser engraved on the blade of the Helle Lappland knife.

    The Helle Norway Story
Helle knives are crafted by hand in the Helle factory, which is situated in the village of Holmedal, Norway on the edge of a beautiful fjord. The factory was founded in 1932, and while it has evolved from the factory initially operated without electrical power, the hands of skilled craftsmen are still its cornerstone.

Helle knives, though beautiful, are made to be used and are rugged enough to stand up to the wild mountains, fjords and open seas that surround the factory. They are designed and made by people who use them in this wild environment. In other words, they stand up to the real world.

Each Helle knife is unique, as it is hand made from natural materials.
