The Buck 840 Sprint Select Folding Knife was designed to be a hard-working, easy to carry folding EDC (everyday carry) knife. A blade flipper and ball bearing technology makes this knife one-hand opening, and the full bellied drop point blade is strong and versatile. The glass filled nylon handles are rugged, but keep the Sprint Select weighing in at a mere 3.2 ounces.
The full flat grind blade of the Sprint Select is made of Buck's legendary 420HC stainless steel, which has the advantage of excellent corrosion and wear resistance. The drop point shape of the blade makes it sturdy, and its full belly makes it thick and strong for even heavy tasks, while the angle of the blade slanting down to the tip helps prevent accidental punctures.
This versatile blade locks open when in use with a frame lock mechanism built into the handle frame on the side of the knife. This sleek locking mechanism cuts down on moving parts, and on weight. The channeled lock arm moves inward to lock against the open blade. Pushing it outward releases it so the knife can close securely.
The handle of the Sprint Select is made of glass filled nylon, a rugged, textured material that provides a good grip and stands up to any task.
Buck's exclusive Paul Bos heat-treating and testing process maximizes both edge retention and performance. The blade is hardened through a rigorous heating, freezing and reheating process.
Engraving: Up to 8 characters can be engraved on the blade of the Buck 840 Sprint Select Knife.
