The Buck 112 Ranger Folding Knife is shorter-blade version of the iconic Buck 110 Hunter. Given its size, the 112 Ranger is everyday-carry favorite featuring a razor sharp clip-point blade crafted from 420HC stainless steel, and striking genuine ebony handles with finger grooves and brass bolsters.

The clip-point blade has a crescent tip that creates a thinner blade edge with a sharper point. This allows for detail work and cutting in tight spaces. It is also well-suited for creating punctures such as new holes in your belt.

When opened fully, the 3-inch blade on the 112 Ranger locks safely into position with a lock back design. When closed, the knife is just 4.25-inches for convenient everyday carry. The included genuine leather belt sheath makes bringing the 112 along even easier.

The blade of the 112 Ranger is made of Buck's standard 420HC stainless steel, as this material has both exceptional corrosion resistance and wear resistance. Buck's exclusive Paul Bos heat-treating and testing process maximizes both of these advantages, and makes the blade easy to resharpen when needed. It is hardened to a Rockwell Hardness of RC58 through a rigorous heating, freezing and reheating process.

When the blade is fully opened, it locks securely into place. The lock is released by pushing down on the rocker visible on the top of the knife and folding the blade closed.

The handles of the 112 Ranger are Crelicam Genuine Ebony and feature finger grooves for a comfortable grip. Buck has gone to great lengths, partnering with Taylor Guitars, to ensure a sustainable supply model for these genuine ebony handles. Buck treats the natural ebony with resin to create a nearly indestructible handle with a beautiful grain pattern. Please note that, as these handles are made of natural wood, each one is unique.

The History of the Buck 112 Ranger Knife
The Buck 110 Hunter Knife was once found on many sailers' belts in the Navy. Legend has it that, one day when a fight on deck broke out, the sailors fought with their 110 Hunters. As they were so large, the captain enacted a limit on blade length on board. Buck created the smaller 112 Ranger in response to this new rule, and the 112 soon became another favorite on board and elsewhere.
