The Boker Tirpitz Damascus Folding Knife is a piece of history you can carry with you every day. The Tirpitz, the sister ship of the legendary Bismark, was the largest battleship ever constructed for the German Navy. The blade on this Boker limited edition knife is a piece of living history, having been forged from the armor of the Tirpitz.

On November 12, 1944, the Britsh Royal Air Force sank the Tirpitz with the use of special tallboy bombs, causing its permanent descent to a fjord off the Norwegian coast. Shortly after the war, a Norwegian company took interest in the specially alloyed steel of the Tirpitz armor and retrieved pieces of this armor from the fjord where the ship rests.

Pieces of this armor are now being forged by Boker's Damascus forger into an extraordinary Damascus steel with a "Great Pyramids" pattern comprised of over 300 layers. Also included in this blade's Damascus, alongside the original Tirpitz metal, is carbon tool steel, making it extremely rugged and giving it a hardness of 61 HRC.

The handle of the Tirpitz Damascus, is crafted from a high strength AlMgSi1 anodized aluminum. Local German walnut wood is inlaid in the aluminum handle in tribute to the German rifles which used this wood as shaft wood due to its superior characteristics.

The original Tirpitz logo is engraved into the handle to denote this knife's unique and legendary origins.

A reversible clip allows for tip-up or tip-down carry of the Tirpitz Damascus.

The Tirpitz knives are being produced by Boker in memory of the countless victims of the World Wars, and in honor of the peace and liberty that have followed.

This extraordinary knife comes in a presentation box, serialized, with a certificate of authenticity.
