The Boker M4 Sherman Damascus Folding Knife is a piece of history you can carry with you every day. This unique collector's item combines high quality Boker craftsmanship and historic materials.
The M4 Sherman Tank, the most widely used tank of the Allies during World War II, was produced beginning in 1942, and was in service until 1957. Designed to support the infantry, lead attacks and reinforce defensive positions, there were close to 50,000 of these vehicles manufactured.
Together with the Americans in Wartime Museum in Virginia, Boker has created this limited edition folding knife to preserve this piece of history. Each of the Damascus blades of these knives is forged from various materials from the production of M4 Sherman tanks that have been previously restored by the museum.
The attention to detail on the Sherman Damascus Knife is incredible. The unique Damascus is hand forged by Chad Nichols, and the pattern is a custom "Ladder" reminiscent of the tracks left on the ground by these remarkable tanks. The ball bearing blade is opened using a thumb stud and locked with a solid steel frame lock, and a Hinderer Lock-Stop acts as overstretch protection for the lock.
The shape of this unique piece was designed to pay tribute to the lines of the armor of the Sherman Tank, and the decorative blade axle screw resembles the main drive sprocket wheel.
The jute Micarta handle, angled slightly to rest comfortably in your hand, is the color of a combination of the camouflage paint used by both the US Army and the Marine Corps of the time.
A lanyard hole and deep carry pocket clip (tip-up, right) make this piece easy to carry.
This extraordinary knife comes in a floating display, is serialized, and comes accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
