    The Real Deal in Grafting

The garden grafter red, two-bladed grafting and budding knife is the real deal! I got my first one over 20 years ago from the subsumed A.M. Leonard Company. I still remember admiring the satin nylon, red scales and gleaming stainless blades. What quality! What craftsmanship! My old knife is still fine, undamaged, and solid. But I wanted a new one, just in case. I finally stumbled upon this store and took a chance, went all the way with Roman font monogram (they spelled my name right) and held my breath for a few days. Storms between your Coast and mine added a day or so but I got it in about 5 days. Identical to my original! Same quality, same fit and finish, plus the monogram. The straight blade is good for rough work and saves your grafting blade for fine cuts and finishing. Note that the blades are only honed on one side. The idea is for a flatter cut and better, quicker healing. You can see which side in slanting light. This is a great gift idea for the dedicated hobbyist or professional.

    Excellent grafting knife

This is my favorite grafting knife. It's not too fancy or even expensive. It's great quality and gets the job done. I lost my other one so I had to get this exact replacement. This model is not easy to find nowadays so I'm glad that Swiss Knife Shop still carries it.

This website is possibly the only place in the world you can find this specific knife.

You can find straight blades, OR grafting blades by Victorinox but this knife that has BOTH, is incredibly hard to find. ANYWHERE. Even online. I spent more time than I’d like to admit searching for this specific knife, that has both blades. Both blades have a single bevel, one is straight and one is curved, and one has a hump on the back side that is for getting into bark. It’s essentially a dull knife that won’t cut you.

There were some other versions I found that was branded FELCO, apparently the two brands had a working relationship for some years and not for another period. Both essentially the same knife but I prefer without the branding because it looks a lot cleaner and will be a relic when I pass it down the generations.

Shipping was fairly fast, so no complaints there. Overall, beautiful gorgeous knife. Long enough for a palm hold, brass rivets and logo are a lot more pleasing than silver. There is no liner lock but to be honest, for grafting purposes (it’s intended use), you shouldn’t need to be using a wild amount of pressure, and you would most likely be using gardening gloves anyways.
