Bought one of these for myself and one for my sister when I realized if you add a rambler or better yet a manager, you would have almost the same set of tools as the new Companion series. Of course the companion has better scissors and the partial hook but the sportsman and a rambler would be lighter to carry. I noticed that the file can be used on small Phillips head screws. The sportsman could also be a great alternative to buying the cadet because you get four more tools, you can add a pin and a small screwdriver to the corkscrew to make a total of six. Like the Tinker small, the Sportsman is one of the ones that they have stopped making so it’s probably a good idea to get one before they’re gone. Would also make a great gift. For the price, the lifetime warranty and the excellent customer service from SKS It’s hard to beat the Sportsman.

The knife is everything that I expected. I wanted a small blade to be able to get into places a larger blade would not fit. The awl fits the requirement very well. I keep the knife around my neck using the lanyard ring that is attached to the knife.

Very good! Nice size but I liked the slightly smaller one I bought (and unfortunately lost) that came with out the corkscrew even better.
