The Boker MACH-1 Ford Mustang Damascus Folding Knife is a piece of history you can carry with you every day. This unique collector's item combines high quality Boker craftsmanship and historic materials.
Inspired by the P-51 Mustang World War II fighter plane, Ford developed the MACH-1 Ford Mustang in the early 1960's. The Mustang was a compact sports coupe with a galloping horse emblem in the radiator grill. It made a statement in the league of muscle cars, and the 1969 model, the basis of the Boker MACH-1 knife, featured sports suspension; matte black racing stripes; a cowl induction hood; and chrome-plated exhaust tailpipes, fuel filler cap, bonnet pins, and front and rear spoilers.
The blade of the Boker 1969 MACH-1 Knife is hand-forged by Chad Nichols in an 84-layer Damascus in the Wavepool pattern. Parts of the wheel hub, wishbone and suspension of the Ford MACH-1 car are used by Chad as materials for this stunning blade.
The ball-bearing blade with its distinctive ricasso opens smoothly with the use of a removable thumb stud, and is strong and sharp. It locks open while in use with a sturdy liner lock. The blade axle screw makes the forward drive of the Mustang's wheels tangible.
The handles of this knife are made of lightweight, high-strength Silver Jade aluminum and have a shape and style reminiscent of the wings of the MACH-1 muscle car. The gold-colored inlay trim echoes the side trip of the door and bodywork. The straight-lined and angular stainless-steel clip is reminiscent of the Ford Mustang's door handles.
A lanyard hole and straight lined pocket clip make this piece easy to carry.
