  • The Victorinox Companion S Alox Swiss Army Knife is a small, bladeless keychain multi-tool equipped with everyday essentials. Housed between two light alox (aluminum oxide) handles is a pair of Victorinox's much-loved folding scissors, as well as a multi-purpose bottle opener with a screwdriver tip and a wire cutter.

    The Companion S was built without a blade that could get this tool banned from schools, concerts and other venues for having a knife built in.*

    This slim, light pocket knife is designed to be a very useful keychain, or a pocket or purse mainstay.

    Engraving: Up to 6 characters can be engraved on the shield side of this bladeless knife.

    An ultra-slim version of the Victorinox Jetsetter, now with Alox scales!

    The Victorinox Companion S (small) Alox is part of Victorinox's new Companion line of bladeless Swiss Army Knives, although I guess without a blade it's technically more of a Swiss Army Multitool. I got the version with silver scales and red enamel inlay on the logo for everyday carry. The screwdriver is a small #0 Phillips, magnetized at the tip, and works great so far. And the scissors work well for opening small packages. I haven't had a chance to use the cap lifter functionality yet, but I would imagine it works well.

    Like other models with Alox scales, this model omits the toothpick and tweezers, however, it is also about half the width of the Cellidor-scaled Jetsetter, so more easily fits on a keychain or in a fifth pocket. And unlike its bladed brethren, it is far less likely to cause any issues with airport security.

    A better Jetsetter, the perfect minimalist EDC companion

    I prefer carrying a dedicated pocket knife, but want the high-quality tools of a Swiss Army Knife close at hand. This wafer-thin alox version of the Jetsetter has the essential tools I use everyday in a very compact package. If I need to catch a flight or go to a secured building, I just leave the knife at home.
