I don't carry expensive knives - the risk of losing a high dollar knife, and I have plenty, is simply too great. I've carried a Sentinel for at least 25 years. I just purchased my third, and yes, to make a long story very short, I lost the first two.
Though I am a "made in America" kind of guy the Sentinel is simply the best, most functional and comfortable "everyday carry" knife I have.
If all my wishes could be granted the steel would be a bit harder, however, the Sentinel, holds a very good edge for an acceptable duration. A few strokes on a ceramic stick sharpener will restore a smooth, sharp edge ready for the next task. The pocket clip is an absolute must, and the toothpick and tweezers are a bonus as well.
For my world, simple is better. The Sentinel qualifies as simple, functional, tough and if you lose it you don't have to have a funeral, you just buy another.

Okay, it's fine for what it is, certainly not bad
But....I feel it's smaller than I expected. I had one years ago that was bigger and have one now that I picked up at a garage sale so it to is an older model and is also bigger.
It just feels less built and more flimsy than I would like it to be.
I'm certainly glad it wasn't more expensive
I will carry it and only time will tell how robust it is in the real world.
