Meet the Companion Collection from Victorinox – Makers of the Original Swiss Army Knife.
New in July 2025, Victorinox, Maker of the Original Swiss Army Knife, has rolled out the Companion Collection. This new line of Swiss Army Knives combines multi-functionality with a sleek, slim design. The Companion Collection helps with everyday tasks. Whether you are opening packages, enjoying a drink, or cutting loose threads, it makes these tasks easier and sharper.
The keystone of this collection is the new standard Companion itself, with Victorinox's iconic red handles. This 16-function pocket knife is packed with many Victorinox favorites - like the razor-sharp main blade, various screwdrivers and scissors.
What makes it different from other Swiss Army Knives? A new, purpose-built box opener, exclusive to the Companion series. This unique tool with a flat head screwdriver tip looks a bit like a bottle opener, but has a few serrations designed to slice right through packing tape and cardboard to give you access to your latest online purchase safely and in record time without getting the main blade of your knife sticky.
The other members of the Companion Collection fulfill a promise from Victorinox. A few years ago, they committed to creating tools without blades. People can carry these bladeless tools to schools and other places where they do not allow knives. (This being said, there is no way to guarantee that any pocket tool will pass through security checks, as allowing it through is at the complete discretion of the security personnel and agencies in charge of screening.)
The three Alox members of the Companion family are slim and lightweight pocket tools. They do not have the usual Swiss Army Knife blade. These bladeless tools come with scissors and other tools.
The Companion Slim Alox and Companion X Alox are both full-size pocket tools that are 3.7 inches long. The Companion Slim has 6 functions: scissors, the Companion box opener, a 3 mm flat head screwdriver, a bottle opener, a 7 mm flat head screwdriver and a wire stripper.
The Companion X has only scissors built into its aluminum oxide handles and is ideal for keeping your everyday carry to just this essential tool.
The Companion S Alox is smaller, measuring just 2.25 inches long, and makes the perfect travel-friendly keychain tool. It is essentially a more lightweight version of the popular Jetsetter, and features many of the Jetsetter's functions: a bottle opener with magnetic phillips screwdriver and wire stripper, scissors and a key ring.
The only differences between the Companion S Alox and the Jetsetter are the handles (Alox vs. the Jetsetter's traditional Victorinox red Cellidor), and the lack of the toothpick and tweezers that slide into the handles of the Jetsetter.
