The blade of the Pursuit is made of Buck's standard 420HC stainless steel, as this material has wear resistance almost as strong as high carbon alloys, while also featuring corrosion resistance comparable to chromium stainless steels.
Buck's exclusive Paul Bos heat-treating and testing process maximizes both of these advantages, and makes the blade easy to resharpen when needed. It is hardened through a rigorous heating, freezing and reheating process.
The handles of the 657 Large Pursuit Guthook are Glass Filled Nylon/Versaflex for superior grip, even in wet conditions.
