The Opinel Knife Maintenance Kit contains everything you need to keep your Opinel knife in good condition from the tip of the blade to the heel of the handle.
Packaged in a convenient metal storage box, this kit includes a 5.5 inch sharpening stone, a 5 ounce can of plant-based oil and a microfiber cloth.
The sharpening stone is a natural stone sourced from the French Pyranees. To sharpen your knife blade with this stone, wet it and draw the blade across it at the proper angle.
The maintenance oil, which is plant-based, can be used for greasing the blade and hinge and the Virobloc locking ring. It can also be used to maintain wood handles and cutting boards.
Finally, the microfiber cloth is ideal for cleaning Opinel knives as well as applying oil to the handle and blade and wiping everything clean when you have finished.
To apply the oil, clean and dry your knife with a soft, dry cloth, such as the included microfiber cloth in this set. Then, apply a few drops of the oil to a clean cloth and rub it carefully on the blade. Allow the blade to dry fully before closing it.
To condition Opinel wood handles, apply a few drops of oil to the microfiber cloth and rub them evenly.
