The Buck 635 Paklite Cape Select Fixed Blade Knife was designed for caping and small game, as well as other outdoor adventures. This lightweight knife with a skeletal frame has full tang construction and weighs only 1.59 ounces, so it won't weigh you down whether you're out in the field or deep in the woods.
The Paklite Cape's blade is exceptionally strong, and can complete game processing without needing to be resharpened in the field.
This knife's drop-point blade is full-bellied and has a strong, thick point well suited to even tough tasks. The top of the blade drops down (giving it its name), which minimizes accidental punctures. It is the ideal blade shape not only for skinning, but for other outdoor adventures.
It is made of Buck's standard 420HC stainless steel, as this material has wear resistance almost as strong as high carbon alloys, while also featuring corrosion resistance comparable to chromium stainless steels. Buck's exclusive Paul Bos heat-treating and testing process maximizes both of these advantages, and makes the blade easy to resharpen when needed. It is hardened through a rigorous heating, freezing and reheating process.
The handles of Buck's Paklite knives are minimalist and ergonomic. The cut-outs and jimping provide a secure grip, even when things get messy. The glass-filled nylon handles make them comfortable to hold, and can be removed for easy cleaning.
The Paklite Cape Select comes with a lightweight polypropylene sheath that is designed to allow for a variety of different carrying methods.
