The Boker Barlow Prime EDC Black Folding Knife has a teardrop-shaped blade which hearkens back to 17th-century English pocketknives. The name Barlow is thought to have originated with the knife producer in Sheffield who began exporting this knife to North America around 1800, and the Barlow is one of the oldest models made.

This modern version of the Boker Barlow Prime does not have the Barlow's characteristic bolsters, but instead has continuous, comfortably contoured handle scales made of black canvas Micarta with decorative brass rivets.

The satin-finished blade of this knife is made of ice-hardened N690 steel, and is opened by nail nick. The EDC Barlow Prime also features a modern, elongated ricasso (the unsharpened length of the blade just above the handle of a knife).

The operating safety of this slip joint pocket knife is increased by a 90 degree arrestor when opening and closing the blade.

Engraving: Up to 8 characters can be engraved on the blade of the Boker EDC Black Barlow Prime Folding Knife.

The Boker Tree Brand Story
In the 17th century, the Boker family began a small hardware factory beneath a towering chestnut tree in Germany. This tree was incorporated into the Boker's first logo in the 1600s, and has remained an important brand symbol. Over the years, the Boker family expanded their business and moved to Solingen, the City of Blades, to begin the now-famous knife line with cutlery expert Hermann Heuser. In honor of the majestic tree from their first factory, Boker was originally known as Tree Brand, and many still refer to it by this name.
