SKU: BK113324

MSRP: $239.00

The Boker Schloss Burg Castle 1906 Folding Knife is a piece of history you can carry with you every day. Schloss Burg Castle is a landmark near Solingen, Germany. Located next to the Wupper River, it is one of the largest castles in western Germany, and was constructed in 1133 by Earl Adolf III.

Today, large portions of this historic castle are being renovated to maintain the original structure of this great building. As part of this reconstruction, large planks of old oak wood are being replaced. In collaboration with the castle's historians, this wood is being preserved by Boker in the form of the handles of the Castle Series limited edition knives.

This 1906 knife has a blade made of 01 carbon steel with a special acid wash finish that protects it and furthers the historic appeal of the piece.

The production of the 1906 Castle Knife is strictly limited to only 1,133 pieces worldwide, to symbolize the completion date of the castle.

The model of this knife, the 1906, is also an act of historical preservation. Originally created by Boker in 1906, the design of this knife is over 100 years old, but is still much-loved. No old prototypes or drawings of the design existed, so Boker recreated the knife using traditional methods throughout the production process. The resulting knife has clean lines and a unique grind.

The Boker Tree Brand Story
In the 17th century, the Boker family began a small hardware factory beneath a towering chestnut tree in Germany. This tree was incorporated into the Boker's first logo in the 1600s, and has remained an important brand symbol. Over the years, the Boker family expanded their business and moved to Solingen, the City of Blades, to begin the now-famous knife line with cutlery expert Hermann Heuser. In honor of the majestic tree from their first factory, Boker was originally known as Tree Brand, and many still refer to it by this name.
