Fibrox Pro 5-Piece Knife Set with In-Drawer Knife Holder by Victorinox

SKU: VF511435

MSRP: $280.00

This Victorinox Fibrox Pro 5-Piece Knife Set with In-Drawer Knife Holder , features 5 professional-quality kitchen knives and an elegant in-drawer knife storage block. Each knife in this set has the Victorinox NSF-approved, patented Fibrox handles designed by professional chefs for professional and home chefs alike.

The knife block, made of sturdy beechwood, features five professionally-angled knife slots. Slide this block in your drawer to free up counter space for working, and to keep your knives out of harm's way.

Each Victorinox knife in this set features a Fibrox handle and extremely sharp blade that holds its edge. The chef's knife is the most versatile knife in the kitchen, and is an extension of the cook's hand, making easy work of chopping, slicing and dicing. The 8" Chef's Knife is ideal for many daily tasks, while the 6" Chef's Knife is perfect for smaller cutting jobs. The 10.25" Serrated Bread Knife is equipped to cut through even the crustiest loaf. The classic 7" Fillet Knife with its thin, flexible blade, is adept at moving around bones. The 7" Santoku Knife is designed to cut meat, fish and vegetables. The santoku is similar to a standard chef's knife, with the difference being the straighter blade, which is designed for chopping, rather than rocking.

The patented Fibrox handle is dishwasher safe and slip resistant, even when wet. It is also NSF approved, as crevices that would offer hospitality to bacteria are minimized. As with all Victorinox knives, the handle is ergonomically designed to minimize wrist tension and provides a natural fit.

The Victorinox (formerly R.H. Forschner)* 8-inch Chef's Knife won the distinction of Best Value in the April, 2007 Cook's Illustrated test. Testers for this popular consumer magazine summarized their review by saying, "This is exactly what a knife is supposed to be."

Once again in the August, 2009 Cook's Illustrated, "While it's easy to blow your budget on a fancy chef's knife, the inexpensive, lightweight Victorinox Fibrox remains the test kitchen favorite."

All Victorinox kitchen knives all have high carbon, stainless steel blades that are hand finished at Victorinox in Switzerland by skilled craftsmen. Each knife is stamped from a single sheet of metal. The blade is then hardened, tempered, ground, polished, etched and finished. Victorinox uses a special tempering process to produce an edge that can be resharpened over and over again.
