Got it for the tweezer and scissor! Review by The Count
-
Have had a larger Victorinox knife for almost 30 years now. Bought it in Switzerland and has been with me around the word. What I really like and what no other multitool has are the tweezers, scissors and toothpick, all in one. Every have a splinter? Good luck getting it out without fine tweezers. Plus the Classic SD is so small you can have it on your keychain and never be bothered by it.

Watch out for the TSA! Review by johnrichard
-
As have others on here, I've had Victorinox SAK's since I grew up in the 60's. Never was hunter/fisherman type, was more the DIY guy, and this little knife became my constant companion, as it is still. The great part about the Classic is that it's a true utility knife; beautiful in quality but not too precious to actually use. I've had more uses than I can count. Lives on all my keychains. So much a part of me that, like others on here, have lost a few to the TSA! Main keychain one is the oldest, the little logo fell off one day at my desk and had to superglue it back on. Other than that, and very occasional clean/lube, just keeps on serving as I expect from Victorinox.

Great edc knife for a keychain Review by Michael
-
As for me too, I always have my Zippo and a Swiss Army knife. I always have this on my keychain. Although I don't use this knife much because of my Deluxe Tinker, it is still handy when my nails need trimming. It's also less intimidating than the larger knives, so I use it when I need a knife, but I don't want to frighten any one.

`````````````I'm 70 years old. I've been an outdoors sort for most of those years. Two things i'm never without,, a Zippo lighter and my Swiss army knife. They've saved my neck more than once. They are completely reliable and one can always count on them.
Good knife Review by Sneaky
-
The best thing about Swiss Army knives is the scissors. I never leave home without my SA Executive. When I travel I stick the smaller Classic SD into my toiletry article bag in my carry on. I have traveled all over the world and never been caught...until Christmas. Finally at McCarren in Las Vegas an alert TSA scanner operator saw my knife in the scanner. Tragically, they took my pride and joy. Here I am buying another. Can I get 5 more years traveling all over the world without somebody finding my new knife? Time will tell...
The standard of pocket knife exellence Review by smithsenfield
-
I have other pocket knives but this is the one I carry daily. The only problem is the restrictions on such small knives getting through airport checkpoints. The TSA should have a template for this little knife and accept it for boarding. After all, how badly could you hurt someone with it?
Some others have said that they have one of these for 20 years. I go through one every year or two because I use it for EVERYTHING. I cut and strip wires in the lab, cut cardboard boxes open, etc. All these uses constitute abuse and this knife holds up for a good long time despite that. If I don't lose a knife in two years I will have sharpened its blade down to 2/3 of its original width and the scissors have been beat up as well. When these knives are thus worn they are retired to strategic, low-use locations around my house. A few retired SD's have been modified for specific tasks such as opening wristwatch cases to replace the batteries.
I am glad this product exists, that it is so very fine, and that it is made in Switzerland and not in China. It is a consistently excellent product that I hope never changes.
I wouldn't be without my Classic SD Review by Jerry
-
I haven't been without a Victorinox knife for at least the last 20 years.
The only reason I buy a new one is because I lose'em. If the knife
isn't in my pocket when I'm dressed for the day, I go back until I have
it on me once again. I carry it all the time: never knowing when I may
need to use it. Several men in our neighborhood carry them,too.
It's interesting how dependent we are on having that little knife available
for so many situations that come up. Just bought a black one today
to add to the red one I still have. THANKS for a wonderful,quality product.
OUTSTANDING Review by Travis
I bought these for the groomsmen and best man in my wedding and had their initials engraved on the back of the knife. They (and everyone else) really like them and commented on the unique nature of the gift. As a former Marine, I am very sceptical of cheap knives. These knives, however, live up to their name and are made of solid quality.
The Classic Knife Review by The Swiss Knife Beginner
-
This knife is a cute, handy little tool. It's small, but can fit snuggly in your pocket. It takes about a week to arrive. They're perfect as gifts, especially with the different colors and the fact that you can get a engraving. The blade can't cut you easily, but can cut objects easily. The classic knife is the perfect knife for beginners, and even though it looks "wimpy" with only 7 tools, you really don't need more than that for every day uses. The classic knife is the perfect knife for beginners and is great to give as a gift. (P.S. The toothpick and tweezers are on the front and back of the knife near the bottom. They are the grey and white square and you just pull them out.)
Useful Review by Kapirit
A great keychain or pocketknife, the classic is an excellent tool for beginners. The blade is not big enough to easily cut you ( unless you tried :) ), but perfect for small whittling & small jobs.
This was my first SAK. I recommend this to everybody.
Great things in a small package Review by Ben Mercer
-
This is one of THE handiest knives available for everyday carry. It's small enough to fit comfortably in any pocket or purse, has just the right compliment of tools for small jobs, and holds up to the Victorinox reputation for quality. For us city dwellers, you really CAN'T find a more practical pocket knife. While it won't cut carpet or thick rope very easily, it is ideal for the kinds of tasks that the majority of us face daily. The engraving done by Swissknifeshop.com is VERY well done and adds a personal touch that will thrill the person receiving the knife! I have given several of these away as gifts to friends and soldiers in my Unit. It's ALWAYS a hit! One of the classiest and most practical gifts you can give especially with the name engraving.
Swiss Army Classic makes a great gift! Review by Heather
-
The Classic is the knife I've carried everyday for years. They are so much fun to give as a gift too. I always ask the person "what's your favorite color?" Then a few weeks later when they open their gift they just smile and say "Oh, that's why you were asking!" Then they have a knife that is so handy AND their favorite color. Who could ask for more!?
