The MIYABI Mosaic line of fine Japanese cutlery is a fusion of the traditions and craftsmanship of Japanese sword makers with the excellence of German engineering. Miyabi Mosaic, made in Japan of exclusive German Zwilling special formula stainless steel, combines Japanese sharpness with the easy care and durability for which Zwilling's German blades are known.
The edge of each Miyabi Mosaic knife blade is hand-finished with the traditional 3-step Honbazuke method. The angle is honed by a Japanese artisan to 9.5 - 12 degrees per side. The acute angle, in concert with the Honbazuke method, yields exceptional sharpness.
The authentic D-shaped handle of the Miyabi Mosaic line is made of black linen Micarta, which has a wood-like appearance and feel, along with the durability of synthetic material. Its beauty is enhanced with the mosaic pin which gives the line its name.
The MIYABI Mosaic 3" Kudamono Paring Knife is a miniature version of a Santoku knife, and is used much like a parer. The Kudamono knife is also known as a fruit knife or a sheep's foot parer and is well suited to slicing fruits and vegetables such as strawberries, carrots and zucchini.

Each MIYABI Mosiac knife is forged in Japan from Zwilling's legendary German special formula stainless steel that has an ideal balance of chromium and carbon content. The Japanese-profile blades of the knives in this collection have been FRIODUR ice-hardened to enhance their quality. The result of this patented process is a blade that is especially flexible and resistant to rusting, corrosion, staining and pitting. The blade's tang is a full concealed tang, adding to the balance and strength of the piece and allowing for effortless cutting.
The blade of each MIYABI Mosaic knife transitions seamlessly to the easy-care Micarta handle. The handle, which is permanently bonded for seamless accuracy and no gaps, is in the traditional Japanese D-shape. It is made of black linen Micarta, a synthetic material with the look and feel of wood.
Though MIYABI Mosaic knives are dishwasher safe, it is highly recommended that they be cleaned by hand.
