The Victorinox (formerly Forschner*) 4 1/4 inch Serrated Tomato Knife by Victorinox features a black NSF-approved Polypropylene handle. Crevices that would offer hospitality to bacteria are minimized. As with all R.H. Forschner knives, the handle is ergonomically designed to minimize wrist tension and provides a natural fit.

Forschner knives all have high carbon, stainless steel blades that are hand finished at Victorinox in Switzerland by skilled craftsmen. Each knife is stamped from a single sheet of metal. The blade is then hardened, tempered, ground, polished, etched and finished. Victorinox uses a special tempering process to produce an edge that can be resharpened over and over again.

No pretty packaging Review by Tomato Barb

I love this knife and wanted to give as gifts this year for Christmas. Much to my dismay, when the knife showed up, it was not in it's retail packaging. Nowhere does it say it is a tomato knife. There is a piece of cardboard glued to the blade and that's it for the packaging! It looks like I took it out of my knife drawer and slapped a piece of cardboard on it.

I bought one of these knives (with orange handle) for my wife for her birthday 30+ years ago which became her favorite. The bottom tine broke off last year, but it still holds top position in the stable. Now she wants another or two or three but with orange handles. "Where's my orange knife", she says.
