The Caran d'Ache Maya XS Ecridor Silver- and Rhodium-Plated Collection features five writing instruments: a fine, medium or bold-nib fountain pen, ballpoint pen, and mechanical pencil. Each of these writing instruments has a rhodium coating with silver-plated trim. The rhodium finish has a beautiful silvery sheen. Rhodium is a rare precious metal which never shows any signs of tarnish.
The hexagonal body of each piece is made of brass with a flexible clip. The Caran d'Ache logo is on the button.
The fountain pens are supplied with a piston pump and a blue Caran d'Ache cartridge, and can be used either with the ink reservoir pump or with ink cartridges. The ballpoint pens are supplied with a blue cartridge, and the mechanical pencils with leads of 0.5 mm diameter.
